Here’s a brief overview of what will be covered. Click on the points to jump ahead:
Console
Nintendo came out with 2 versions of the Switch: Switch and Switch Lite. The Switch was the first edition and the Switch Lite came later.
- Nintendo Switch: There are many versions of this console made with the theme of various games in mind. All of which have removable Joy-cons, and would be a better option if you are looking to play mostly multiplayer games.
More popular versions include: Original, Pokemon and Animal Crossing.

I got myself the original Switch version in Red & Blue because I preferred the timeless and minimalistic design (❁´◡`❁)
2. Nintendo Switch Lite: This second edition of the Switch is smaller and lighter, but the controllers are non-removable and are mostly for Single Players. You’re only able to play multiplayer games if it supports wireless connectivity to other Switch consoles. The Switch Lite allows you to link several Switches together for local nearby play but each player will look at their own console.
Common colors include: Grey, Pink, Turquoise, Yellow, Pokemon version.

- Travel case: There are many types that accommodate for the number of game cartridges you have. The most common would be 9 and 20 game cartridge travel cases. There are also plenty of designs. I’ll list the one I use below and some alternatives for you to choose from.
Alternatives: 9 card slot travel case, Pokeball themed, Pikachu themed, and a more luxurious Option by Nintendo with high functionality.

2. Attach on portable charger specially created for the Switch!
I am considering getting myself one of these as my Switch always runs out of battery at the most crucial times when I want to game or when I’m in the middle of a game ( $ _ $ )
With this attachment, there is also an in-built cooling system, so you won’t have to worry about your Switch heating up when you are playing and charging at the same time!
Want to protect your Switch from scratches, chips, and other damages?
Here are some items you can consider purchasing to keep your Switch safe and in good condition. Let’s start off with protecting your game cartridges.
-
Game Cartridge case: This is extremely convenient and useful if you do not want to keep bringing the plastic case that comes with each cartridge. If you want to bring a few games out, you would have a stack of plastic cases to bring along. So here’s something more compact. I’ll link it here.
2. Switch console casing: This differs for a Switch and Switch Lite console. This is similar to a protective cover for your phone, but instead, for your Switch.
This Switch protective casing can be found here.
3. Switch Lite on the other hand also has its own protective casing. It is of a different size from the Switch so make sure to check carefully which casing you are buying before making your purchase.
This Switch Lite protective casing can be found here.
4. Screen Protectors & Skins: Basic clear tempered glass screen protectors can be obtained cheaply. But if you want to spice up the look of your console, here are some skin suggestions you can consider!
If you are an avid pokemon fan, you should definitely check this seller out. They sell various types of pokemon skins for you to personalize your Switch!
There’s not only pokemon!
How about Legends of Zelda skins? Piqued your interest?
If you want to keep your console simple, here are some cheap and durable screen protectors for you.
Similarly, the size varies between the Switch and Switch Lite so please double-check.

5. Joystick Analog Caps: These rubber caps come in various designs that go hand in hand with the gaming themes. They protect your joystick from the wear and tear that friction causes, and provide you with more comfort.
Many comparisons between the Switch and Switch Lite have also commented that the joystick on the Switch Lite is slightly different from the one on the Switch. Hence, I would advise you to check if they specified which console the caps are selling for, just as an extra precaution, in the event that it doesn’t fit whichever console you own, and there’s no refund policy.
For the Switch, here’s a Super Mario themed Analog cap for you!

As for Switch Lite owners, fret not! Although there aren’t as many designs as the Switch, here’s a basic Analog Cap seller for you!
This seller offers the basic Analog Caps in 2 color schemes.
